Blaugust Day 15: Adventures in Trove

Adventures-in-Trove.png

It’s back to the voxel world of Trove for this Blaugust post. A continuation on my adventure. Today, I took on the blue and purple adventuring zones, and what a doozy they were. I’ve become more familiar with the map and what biome is what. My favorite so far is the volcano area in the picture above. It provided me with armor and weapons that were more appropriate to the look I was going for.

I’m almost level 10 and I’m having the most fun dungeon diving. Each biome has their own looks and dungeons, and each dungeon has different layouts they could have. Suffice to say, it’s not very static, which I love because I can go in dungeon after dungeon, fight pretty much the same group of bad guys, but still have the ability to explore around.

Another neat thing I’ve found are trophies of some of the bosses I’ve fought. You get a head mount to put in your home. I have three so far and have them displayed proudly on the front of my little home.

So far this game has me pretty interested, especially when I first looked at it and was sure I never wanted to play it. An opinion can change a lot when you finally give it a try. Now I’m thinking of dragging someone else in with me.

You can find more about Blaugust at the 2015 Blaugust Initiative Page.

  1. Glad to see you are enjoying Trove. I first gave it a whirl during beta basically because it was a Trion title, and I was looking for a free voxel to try out. I'm glad I did - it's a nice blend of combat and exploration, and still keeps a casual tone about it.

Which class(es) have you been playing around with? Myself, I started with the gunslinger, but have also played with the knight, and more recently, the ice sage, so I could have some different weapon types in there. It's a great title, and you can get a lot out of it for being a free game!

    1. I've been running with the Dracolyte, and my brother created an Ice Sage. Both classes are working great together. It's a pretty good title, I'm definitely enjoying myself.

  2. Playing around with Trove, when I first started, it seemed slightly bland. After the first couple of dungeons and getting to play around with costume pieces, I was starting to have a lot more fun. The game is fun for exploring, though it is ramping up rather fast. I'd hate to hit the cap to quickly.

    1. True, it feels like it's leveling pretty quickly, but I'd rather levels be more like guidelines than gates.
